THE NUTRIENTS FOR LIFE FOUNDATION HOSTS JULY SEMINAR FOR EDUCATORS
Nutrients for Life Foundation (NFLF) will host the third annual Professional Development Event, Soil – Life’s Main Ingredient, July 27-31, 2020 virtually.
Unfortunately, due to the unprecedented nature of COVID-19, we have had to make the choice to move the seminar online. Each day we will host a live event and have independent study. Participants in the seminar will receive a package with resource and materials need for the workshop.
This course is designed for teachers aiming to further their knowledge and understanding of soil, enhance their current curriculum, and learn why our Foundation refers to it as Life’s Main Ingredient. Using the free, Smithsonian approved, Nutrients for Life Foundation curricula and 4R principles attendees will learn the scientific reasoning behind soil, nutrients and the environment. Educators participating in the professional development will be provided the necessary knowledge, free resources and experience to take back to their classrooms with ready to go hands on STEM lesson plans.
“By offering a national seminar we hope to offer a professional development workshop that offers new perspective and insight to the importance of teaching about soil nutrients withing the classroom,” said NFLF Executive Director Harriet Wegmeyer. “Our whole team’s effort is evident in the delivery of the workshop, and we are proud that past attendees have said it is the best workshop they have ever attended.”
